High Peel Strength Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) Me-Silicone Resin MQ Trimethylsiloxysilicate CAS 68554-70-1
MQ silicone resin has a SiO4/2 polymer core (i.e., Q) and a trimethylsiloxy (i.e., M) periphery, which forms a compact bilayer cage-like structure of the silicone resin. In addition to the Si-OH group, it may contain other active groups. Methyl MQ silicone resin has a trimethyl end. When part of the methyl group in MQ resin is replaced by a Vi group, it is called methylvinyl MQ silicone resin. When part of the methyl in MQ resin is replaced by a Me2HSiO group, it becomes hydrogen-containing MQ silicone resin.
Thanks to its unique molecular structure, MQ silicone resin readily dissolves in toluene, xylene, and other organic solvents. The solution is clear and colorless, exhibiting good mechanical properties, insulation, moisture and water resistance, and resistance to low and high temperatures. Methyl MQ resin's most important applications are as a primary raw material for the production of pressure-sensitive silicone adhesives (PSA), as an additive in the production of personal protective equipment, wear-resistant coatings, paints, defoamers, and other applications. MQ vinyl silicone resin is used as a reinforcing filler in adhesive silicone rubber, transparent silicone rubber, sealants, and packaging materials for LEDs.
