Silane technologies are attracting increasing attention as the paint industry increasingly adheres to VOC standards and the need to improve the physical properties and extend the life of coatings. Silane coupling agents are primarily used to modify fillers, resins, and primers in paints, primarily serving the following functions: improving adhesion, water resistance, weather resistance, and abrasion resistance of the coating film to the substrate; improving the compatibility and dispersion of the organic resin with the pigment and filler; improving the crosslinking composition of the base resin; and improving the surface hardness of the coating film.
