Boctok silanes and silicone oils have a wide range of biomedical applications. Silanes are primarily used as additives in the synthesis of new biomedical drugs; silicone oil is used as an antiulcer tablet, and a silicone oil preparation is used as an aerosol for pulmonary edema caused by acute inhalation of chlorine and ammonia; modified organosilicon compounds can improve lipid solubility and drug efficacy. An intermediate synthesis of an antimicrobial drug using hexamethyldisilazane as a group protective agent.

Organosilicon materials are used in medicine, particularly in surgery. Silicone materials exhibit physiological inertness, good hemocompatibility and histocompatibility, do not cause inflammation or other reactions in the body or foreign bodies, are non-carcinogenic, do not cause allergic reactions, do not coagulate, are breathable, selective, and easy to disinfect. They can be used for implantation of medical parts and various catheters, including intubation, reducing patient pain, supporting life, and restoring normal bodily functions.
